Axel: Head of Zarwillian Intelligence

Axel Bastion didn't stumble into power — he was built for it. Born into a family with deep military roots on both sides, Axel grew up understanding one thing above all else: Zarwillia is great, and anyone who says otherwise hasn't been paying attention.

His family's service record spans generations. His grandmother on his father's side is considered a war hero. His parents both held high military positions. Axel followed the path naturally, excelling in weapons, combat, and tactical training before pivoting to space fleet. A decision he never looked back on. He fell in love with flying and never stopped.

His rise through the ranks was swift, his test scores exceptional. But somewhere along the way, Axel grew impatient with a Zarwillian government he saw as weak, corrupt, and too willing to compromise the planet's standing in the galaxy. The trade agreements weren't in Zarwillia's favor. The alliances were costing more than they were worth. And nobody in power seemed to care.Axel cared. And he wasn't alone.

A young and ambitious Zarwillian senator named Gin Triston had his eye on Axel long before the rest of the government did. The two recognized something in each other, a shared frustration, a shared vision, and a shared willingness to do what it took to see Zarwillia restored. Their alliance was quiet at first. Calculated. Two men who understood that timing was everything.

When the Ralix Uprising broke out and the galaxy descended into conflict, Axel didn't retreat. He saw opportunity. While others hesitated, he moved, positioning himself and his forces at the center of key engagements and emerging from the chaos with a military reputation that was impossible to ignore. The galaxy took notice. So did Zarwillia's government.

By the time the dust settled, Axel had gone from a frustrated officer to one of the most recognized military figures in the galaxy. Gin Triston had become Zar President. Whether everything about that rise was entirely their own doing is a question few have thought to ask.

What drives Axel isn't cruelty, it's conviction. He genuinely believes Zarwillia has been diminished by bad leadership and bad deals, and that restoring it to its former position in the galaxy is not just right but necessary. He's willing to go further than most to make that happen.

He is dangerous not because he's reckless, but because he's patient, strategic, and absolutely certain he's on the right side of history.
